  • What is Mediation?
    Mediation is basically a conversation to discuss a conflict or issue, with the hopes of reaching a resolution that is acceptable to all involved. Mediation is facilitated by a neutral person (mediator or qualified neutral) and includes at least two people having a conflict or issue. Mediation is a voluntary process, is confidential and is typically utilized by people that want to resolve their own conflicts without involvement from the court system, outside decision-making body or enforcement agency.
  • How long does the mediation process take?
    This depends on the parties to the mediation and how complex the conflict or issue is. It can take anywhere between a couple of hours to as many as a couple of days, depending on the goals and desired outcome of the parties.   • How much does mediation cost?
    We charge $200/hour of mediation, per mediator. Please contact us to assess your situation and we can give you a better idea of the likely total fees.
  • I have concerns about my personal safety due to circumstances in my relationship. Can I still use the mediation process?
    We strive to work with clients in any situation that want to use the mediation process. We will do an initial screening and ask questions to understand your circumstances and will propose creative options to utilize the mediation process. Please contact us to schedule an initial consultation and we'll go from there.
  • Can a mediator give me legal advice about my situation?
    While there are many practicing mediators that are also attorneys, mediators working in a mediation capacity are not acting as legal advisors and therefore, are not permitted to give legal advice. If you want to seek legal advice, you should contact an attorney. Please contact us if you are looking for recommendations of attorneys that might be able to assist you.
